Access: Oncology Essentials - Drug Interactions Program

Which member of the health care team is expected to be the medication management expert?
We realize it is a leading question … and we realize that oncology pharmacists across Canada need to improve their knowledge and skills to better manage drug interactions. CAPhO’s Drug Interactions Program consists of a mixture of online independent study and an in-person workshop. You begin with the basics, then put that learning to the test by working through progressively difficult case studies. Phases 1 and 2 are now accessible online. Phase 3 is an accredited in-person workshop - it is held in conjunction with the CAPhO Conference. Let’s get started!

Oncology pharmacists, technicians and pharmacy assistants look to the Canadian Association of Pharmacy in Oncology (CAPhO) as a key source of professional education and resources.

CAPhO members are dedicated to the development of educational materials to support and enhance education and training for all oncology pharmacy practitioners. The Oncology Essentials series now includes Drug Interactions and Oncology Basics, and our Oncology Fundamentals Day offers those new to Oncology Pharmacy an online, accredited, full- or half-day interactive conference environment. CAPhO also endorsed ONTarget, a guide designed to help you confidently assess and manage the common side effects that targeted cancer therapies may induce in patients with cancer.

Also free for members is the CAPhO Education webinar series. In one hour, keep up to date on timely topics that matter to you in the field of oncology pharmacy. Log in to the CAPhO website as a member to find out when the next webinar takes place and/or to listen to past webinars. Interested in presenting a webinar?  Submit your proposal. Not a member?
